Bee Invasion Part 2

Wednesday, 10pm

Three days ago (Sunday 7/2/2010), the committee receive complain from another Penthouse unit A-12-1 (Previous was complain by Penthouse Unit A-12-3) that they say a new bee hive building up outside their windows.


The committee immediately act on the complain and the arrangement was done today.

The fireman came to our Condo around 10pm because they were on call/duty before 10pm. We immediately went up to the penthouse to view the bee hive. William brought along 4 bottle of Baygon. I never suspect anything.

Suprisingly when we reach the penthouse unit, we found out this new bee hive is bigger than the previos bee hive at Penthouse Unit A-12-3. We were shock to see this, as it was only reported 3 days ago.

Both fireman were inspecting the situation. We were discussing on how we can stand by the window and how we can avoid the bee from attacking us. Both fireman quickly equip themselves with their safety jacket and we the committee were not prepared with anything/safety wear..

The spraying began...
We observed that the bee were not prepared for this attacked.. They are panic and the baygon keep hitting them.. They have no where to run but to fell down from the very top of Block A down to the ground...

After spraying the baygon for more than 5 minutes, we give it a rest. We ask the owner to provide us with a long stick so that we can remove the hive. The owner came out with a broom. He says that this is the longest stick he can find in his house.

After a few shake..

Once finish, we went down to ground flloor and search for the destroyed bee hive...

There goes the second honey bee invasion in Penhill Perdana Condominium...

Corridor Light-Up Lighting Testing

The management and the committee had decided to conduct a corridor light-up lighting testing.
The main reason behind this test is to find out ways to help reduce the monthly electricity usage at our Condo (Our average usage is RM5000)

During this test, the committee found out that there are 2 switches that controls the corridor lightings for each block.


At Block A


When all the lights light up.



Switch 1 is turn off.

and when switch 2 is turn off... The following view can be seen.
One side of the staircase is totally dark and very dangerous. Due to safety concern, the committee decided to turn off switch 1 after 12 midnite everyday.

At Block B

When Switch 1 is turn off.

and when Switch 2 is turn off, the following view can be seen....
We can see that Switch 2 turns off more lights and is turns the building into very dark condition... The committee finally decided to turn off Switch 1 around 11pm because Switch 1 lightings does not affect the lightings condition in Block B...

Hopefully, we can see some reduction is the electricity consumption at our condo.. Will update you all with the savings....

Destroying Honey Bee Hive Operation

28 December 2009.
9pm @ Penhill Perdana Condominium (Block A-12-3)

The operation were carried out by 2 helpful fireman (3 of them came here in a fire brigade).


















When they went into the unit and view at the honey bee hive, we were shock with his request.

Just get us 2 bottle of "Baygon Cockroach Control Aerosol"

We were "what?? Aerosol??"

William immediately ride his motorcycle to get what they requested.
























Meanwhile, 2 of the committee went down to several units of houses and inform the house owner to close their window to prevent the bees from entering their houses.

When William is back, the fireman ask us to close the door.

They took 2 chairs from the dining area and place it next to the window.






















The fireman immediately stands on top of the chair and spray directly at the bee hive.


























After spraying for 3 minutes, the fireman decided to go outside and have a better view of the honey bee hive. The fireman continue spraying at the bee hive from the outside.
























After another few minutes, 90% of the bees fell to the ground.




















The fireman took this opportunity to destroy the hive. They decided to use a steel bar to hit on the bee hive. I can't actually get a good snap of the photo of how the fireman hits the hive as it happen too fast.
























The hive fell from 12th floor to ground floor.

Emergency Evacuation Team

Monday, 14 December 2009.

8.00pm @ Penhill Perdana Condominium Library.

During the committee meeting, the team had decided to set up a new function which is the "Emergency Evacuation Team".

This team should basically knows what, where, when, why, which and how to handle problems during emergency such as:

- Fire

- Earth Quake

- Accidents within the condo premises

and also the latest issue of water pipe burst which happens on Sunday, 13 December 2009.

Therefore, we urged every units to voluntarily attend a briefing regarding this function:

Date: to be advised

Time: 9 am to 12pm

Venue: Penhill Perdana Condo Lobby

During this briefing, you will be guide by professional.

You should attend if you:

- don't know when to evacuate during emergency

- don't know how to save someone during emergency

- don't know where to gather in-case of emergency

- don't know what to do during emergency

- don't know who to contact during emergency

- don't know which item to use during emergency

- don't know where is the riser room and how to operate the fire hose

- don't know where is the fire extinguisher and how to operate the fire extinguisher

Complain of Honey Bee Hive at Penhill Perdana Condo

Saturday, 12 December 2009.

The management office has been getting many feedbacks from the Penhill Perdana tenant.
They says they saw a big honey bee hive at the roof of Block A-12-3.

The management and the committee has decided to have a view at the problem.
Initial investigation, we sees this...
